Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

Beesting Labs LLC is responsible for the personal information it handles in operating its website, providing its audio plugins, managing licenses, communicating with customers, and marketing its products. This notice explains those activities and your choices. Our contact details appear at the end.

Information we receive

Purchase and contact information: We receive information needed to identify your purchase and deliver or support it, such as your name, email address, product, order reference, transaction status, and relevant billing details. Paddle provides our checkout as merchant of record and handles payment information under its own privacy notice. Do not send us full card numbers or security codes through support messages.

Activation information: When you activate or manage a plugin license, our activation service receives information including your IP address, computer name, computer ID, device ID, and the license or account information needed to associate an activation with your purchase. We use this information to identify activated computers, apply the license's activation allowance, and help you manage, recover, or troubleshoot activations. A device name can itself contain personal information, so consider that when naming your computer.

Our plugins do not transmit your audio, plugin usage analytics, or crash reports to us. This does not prevent you from voluntarily sending a recording, screenshot, or diagnostic information when asking for support. Only send material you want us to receive and are authorized to share.

Website information: Visiting the website or requesting a hosted image, audio demo, video, or download makes technical information available to the servers delivering it. This can include an IP address, browser and device details, requested URLs, referring pages, and request times. Cookies and similar technologies can also record preferences, interactions, and advertising identifiers as described below.

Messages and marketing: We receive the information you provide in support requests, forms, newsletter subscriptions, and other correspondence. Mailchimp manages our email marketing lists and communications. Email campaigns may use delivery, opening, and link-click information to measure their performance, depending on the tracking settings and permissions applicable to the campaign.

Why we use information

We use relevant information to deliver purchases, associate licenses with customers and their activated devices, resolve support issues, maintain the website, protect our services, keep transaction records, and meet legal obligations. We also use subscription and website-advertising information to communicate product news, promote our products, and understand campaign results, subject to applicable consent requirements and your choices.

Activation identifiers are used for license administration and activation support, not to analyze the audio you create or build advertising audiences from your plugin activity.

Where European or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, our grounds for processing include performing our contract with you for delivery and licensing; legitimate interests in support, service security, and administration where those interests are not overridden by your rights; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where required for marketing or tracking. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Refusing information necessary to fulfill a purchase or administer an activation may prevent us from providing that part of the service.

Providers and other recipients

We disclose relevant information to providers that help perform the functions described in this policy. These include Squarespace for the website, Cloudflare for hosted media delivery, Paddle for checkout and transactions, Mailchimp for email marketing, and infrastructure or support providers involved in license management and customer assistance. Access should be limited to the information appropriate to the service being provided.

Paddle acts as merchant of record for purchases through its checkout and has its own responsibilities for payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction records. Its processing is described at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy. Mailchimp's privacy information is available at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.

We also use Meta Ads and Google Ads as described below. Those providers may process information under their own privacy terms, including information associated with an account you hold with them.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request, protect legal rights, or address misuse or security incidents. If our business is involved in an acquisition or similar transaction, relevant information may be reviewed or transferred subject to applicable confidentiality and privacy requirements.

Cookies and advertising

Cookies and similar technologies can support essential website functions, remember choices, measure visits, and help deliver or evaluate advertising. Essential functions can include security, checkout, and maintaining a session. Advertising technologies are separate from the information used to activate a plugin.

We use Meta Ads and Google Ads to promote Beesting Labs products. Depending on the campaign and integrations in use, their cookies, pixels, or similar tools can receive browser or device identifiers, IP addresses, pages visited, ad interactions, and conversion events. These tools can help attribute a purchase to an advertisement and show relevant advertisements on other services. Providers may combine those signals with information they already hold, subject to their own policies and your settings.

Where consent is legally required for nonessential cookies or advertising technologies, those technologies require your consent; reading this notice or accepting the software license is not that consent. Use any cookie choices presented on the website to accept, reject, or change optional tracking preferences. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies can affect site features. Choices made in one browser or device do not necessarily apply to another.

Google advertising information and controls are available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and https://myadcenter.google.com/. Meta's information is available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/, with advertising preferences accessible through your Meta account settings. Changing advertising preferences does not necessarily stop all advertisements or all information processing.

Disclosures to advertising partners can qualify as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising under some privacy laws even when no money is paid for the information. To request that we stop these uses where you have that right, email support@beestinglabs.com with the subject "Privacy choices." Where applicable law requires us to honor a browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat it as an opt-out for the browser or device sending it. A generic Do Not Track setting is not necessarily the same signal; use the choices described here rather than relying on that setting alone.

Email choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in a message or by contacting support@beestinglabs.com. This does not stop communications needed to fulfill an order, administer a license, respond to a request, or provide an important service notice. We may retain a limited record of an opt-out so that we do not add you back to a marketing list inadvertently.

Retention and international processing

We retain information according to its purpose and applicable obligations, rather than keeping every category indefinitely. License and activation records may be needed while a license remains usable, including to restore access. Purchase records may need to be retained for tax, accounting, disputes, and legal requirements. Support records are retained as needed to resolve and document assistance; marketing records are retained according to subscription status and the need to honor opt-outs. Security and delivery logs are retained according to their operational purpose and provider settings. When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or de-identified, subject to legal holds and backup cycles.

Beesting Labs is based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy protections differ between countries. Transfers subject to data-protection restrictions must have a lawful transfer basis and any safeguards required by the applicable law. Contact us to ask about the locations, retention criteria, or transfer safeguards applicable to your information.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may be entitled to obtain a copy of your personal information, correct it, request deletion, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Some laws also provide rights relating to sensitive information and certain automated decisions. These rights have exceptions, including information needed to meet legal obligations or establish legal claims.

Send requests to support@beestinglabs.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify a request for access, correction, or deletion, but do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are needed and how to provide them securely. Where the law allows, an authorized agent may act for you. Opt-out requests do not require creating an account. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a protected right.

If we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying with "Privacy appeal." You may also complain to your applicable privacy regulator or data-protection authority. Requests concerning information Paddle holds independently as merchant of record may also need to be directed to Paddle.

Children, security, and changes

Our services are intended for a general audience of music creators, not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps. Purchasing eligibility is addressed in our Terms of Service.

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the information to protect it, but no internet service can guarantee that unauthorized access or loss will never occur. Protect your passwords and license credentials, and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through support messages.

We may revise this notice when our services, practices, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will receive additional notice or consent where required; a policy revision alone does not authorize a new use that requires your consent.
